Islam Times - At least 12 people, including a child and two security personnel, were killed and 30 others injured in a blast which took place near Bacha Khan Chowk in Quetta city on Thursday, the media reported.

Amongst the injured were found four Para-military forces personnel as well as many women and children.

The explosion damaged shops and buildings in the densely populated area of the provincial capital of Pakistani Baluchistan.

Police and rescue teams immediately cordoned off the area for security and investigative purposes.

Responsibility has yet to be claimed by one of Balochistan's many armed militias.

Moreover, a report from north-west Pakistan established that at least five people had been killed and forty others injured in an explosion in the Swat city of Khyberpakhtunkhwa province this Thursday.
