Terrorism will one day burn the hand that feeds it, Erdogan warns Europe
“Terrorism is a fire that, as much as it burns the place where it hits, it will one day come around to burn the hand that feeds it. By now, we expect a sincere stance from Europe in the fight against terrorism. We expect to see sincere solidarity,” the English-language newspaper Today’s Zaman quoted Erdogan as saying at the Turkish-Czech Business Forum in Prague on Monday.

He went on to say that Turkey has repeatedly urged European countries to cooperate in the campaign against terrorism.

“I have to say openly that in spite of the degree of pain experienced and number of people killed, some European countries still do not lend the necessary support to preventing inhumane terrorism. We aren't seeing the necessary earnestness,” the Turkish prime minister stated.

Erdogan added, “Terrorists who commit the bloodiest murders in Turkey can walk freely in Europe. Although we provide European countries information on the suspects behind terrorist groups and atrocious attacks and back our claims with evidence, these people, unfortunately, are left completely untouched.”

He singled out France and Germany and urged both countries to extradite members of banned organizations to Turkey.

It is time for Europe to distance itself from terrorist groups and individuals, Erdogan said in conclusion.
