Russia's stance on Syria remains unchanged: Syria FM

Muallem made the remarks at a joint press conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi in the Iranian capital Tehran on Saturday.
 
    “First of all, there have been long-standing relations between Syria and Russia. Moreover, Russia’s view and stance are firm and based on the UN principles and international regulations,” he added.
 
 
Moallem also pointed out that international law ban putting pressure on other countries and meddling in their internal affairs.
 
He went on to say that Syria’s Russian friends, as well as its Iranian brothers, continue their efforts in the international arena to address the Syrian issue through dialogue.
 
Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March 2011. Many people, including large numbers of security personnel, have been killed in the violence.
 
The Syrian government says the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of the militants are foreign nationals.
