Islam Times - An MP strongly denied rumors that a petition had been filed to strip Sheikh Issa Qassim from his nationality. Sheilh Qassim is a prominent Shia cleric and figure of the opposition in Bahrain -

He has in the past suffered from the state's ire when his house was unlawfully raided earlier this year. The move prompted outrage across Bahrain and the region as the Sheikh is a much revered cleric and scholar.
 
According to some local news sites, certain state officials have accused Sheikh Qassim of enticing violence and would be now using such claims as ground to strip him from his nationality.
