Syrian Army Kills Dozens of al-Nusra Members in Adra Ambush
The army unit confiscated the insurgents' weapons, including machine guns, Israeli-made Uzi machine guns, and BKC and RPG launchers.

According to SANA, al-Nusra militants, including elements holding foreign nationalities, tried to infiltrate into the East Ghota and to attack one of the military posts in rural Damascus.

The opposing UK-based Syrian Observatory confirmed that "at least 62 militants were killed in an ambush carried out by the Syrian regular forces west of the industrial city of Adra, northeast of Damascus."

The Syrian army launched a wide-scale military operation in April to put an end to the violent unrest in the country.

Syria was hit by the unrest since mid-March 2011, where the Syrian government accuses foreign actors of orchestrating the conflict by supporting the militant opposition groups with arms and money.
