Anonymous hacktivist group takes down Israeli websites
The worldwide hactivist group took down “hundreds” of Israeli portals, including those belonging to the Israeli intelligence service Mossad and the Israeli military, Russia Today reported on Monday.

The group also said they brought down the websites of the Israeli ministry of justice, the state archive portal, and the national advertising agency.

“Israel you’re weak!” said a tweet from one of the branches of the dispersed network of online activists, known as AnonymousGlobo, adding that the hackivists would launch more attacks on Israeli websites.

The group declared its latest operation #OpSaveGaza in the beginning of last month.

Anonymous carried out one of its most high-profile attacks during the last Israeli invasion of Gaza in 2012, which it claims to have inflicted USD 3 billion worth of damage on Israel.

At least 1,867 Palestinians, including around 430 children, have been killed and over 9,500 others injured since the Israeli military launched its recent offensive against the Gaza Strip on July 8. Tel Aviv says 64 Israelis have been killed in the war, while the Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas, puts the number at more than 150.

The two sides have agreed to a 72-hour ceasefire, starting on Tuesday.
