Germany offers $3 million aid to Iraq
German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said Friday in Berlin: "It is clear that this is not enough, and we need to look what we can do in addition to that."

Steinmeier added that Daash cruelty toward Iraq Yezidi community was appalling and despicable. "These heinous crimes against all those who do not adhere to their strict religious dogma are criminal and condemnable.”

But Germany is not alone in its efforts to support Iraq. European heavyweights France, Britain and Germany rallied on Friday in support of US air strikes against Islamic State (IS/ISIS) militants near Erbil.

French President Hollande said in a statement that France is going to look with the United States and all its partners at what action could be taken to provide jointly all the necessary support to put an end to the civilians' suffering. It is ready to play its full part in this.

He added, “The international community cannot sit on its hands faced with the threats this terrorist group's advances pose to the people and to the stability of not only Iraq but the whole region.”
