PA forces operate in H2 area for 1st time during daytime

A Palestinian security official told Ma'an that security forces arrested two suspected fugitives in H2, which is under Israeli security control.
 
PA forces have in the past operated in H2 during predawn hours, but this is the first time they have arrested someone in the daytime.
 
"We have instructions from President Mahmoud Abbas and commanders of the security services to do whatever is needed in order to secure our citizens and terminate all negative phenomena which disturbs their lives," the official said.
 
Local youths threw stones at security forces as they made the arrests, with officers firing gunshots in the air.
 
No injuries were reported.
 
Overnight Monday, PA forces clashes with gunmen in al-Amaari refugee camp near Ramallah.
 
The clashes started when a heated argument broke out between a young man from the camp and police officers who came to seize a stolen car with Israeli registration plates.
 
On Oct. 16, PA security forces shot and killed Bilal al-Rajabi during clashes which broke out as PA forces attempted to arrest several known outlaws who had been hiding south of Hebron in Area C.
