We know very well that the US led the war on Yemen, Ansarullah spokesman Mohammad Abdul Salam told al-Masirah TV.

In response on a question of why Yemen indirectly negotiated with the US, he said "apart from the reasons Washington had to initiate this war in Yemen, they have a historical and moral responsibility for the aggression".

"When we negotiate with Americans through a middle country like Oman, as the supervisor and guarantor of the talks, we know that the US is the aggressor, but if we refuse to talk directly with the US or the Saudis, and do not sit around one table, who are going to talk to?" he added.

Stressing that other countries had no information or authority for such talks, he said "negotiating with other countries could only be a waste of time and ignoring the efforts by the army and popular forces".

Mohammad al-Bakhiti, member of the Ansarullah political office also said there has been no change in Ansarullah's position on the US Foreign Minister John Kerry's remarks on a Yemeni truce.

Oman has kept a positive stance on ending Yemeni war under a UN supervision and the truce could be called an achievement for Sultan Ghabus government in Oman, he added.

The US foreign minister previously said warring sides in Yemen had agreed on a truce to start on 17 November.
