Four dead in apparent murder-suicide in suburban Atlanta
The multiple slayings late on Tuesday near Atlanta appear to be part of a possible domestic dispute, Police Major Jerry Lewis of the DeKalb County Police department told the news media.

Three adults, two women and one man, were found dead in a driveway and in a carport after a shooting was reported about 9:15 pm, Lewis said.

A witness saw the suspected shooter drive away from the home, Lewis said, adding, police went to the man’s home about 2 miles (3.2 km) away and found him dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot.

“This is not a random incident, there is no threat to the community,” Lewis said.

The identities of the dead were not released, pending notification of next-of-kin. No one else was shot, police said. All the people knew each other, but their relationships were not disclosed.

The latest rampage comes on the heels of 2 mass shootings in Texas and Ohio, which killed 32 people.

There have been over 250 mass shootings across the US in which four or more people were killed or wounded so far this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive. Overall, nearly 8,900 people have so far died from gun violence in 2019, the database shows.

Over 30,000 people die from gun-related incidents annually in the US.
