Trump and his interest in Ukraine .. US newspaper reveals 'secret'

The newspaper said that the reason for the US president's interest in Ukraine is mainly because of the tendency of the US president to link Ukraine and Russia in the issue of Russian intervention in the US elections in 2016.

The newspaper said it based its report on US and Ukrainian documents and sources that Trump believed the secret emails of former Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton were stored on servers in Ukraine.

This is contrary to the belief of conclusions reached by the intelligence and the US Department of Justice organs, which indicated that Russia was responsible for the intervention in the US presidential elections, Trump's victory over Clinton in 2016.

The newspaper reported that President Trump sent his lawyer, Rudolph Giuliani, to Ukraine on a mission to search for this information, as part of his quest to condemn Ukraine on the issue of election interference.

According to the newspaper Trump recommended his Ukrainian counterpart, in a telephone conversation last July, in cooperation with US Attorney General and Attorney General William Barr, to emphasize that Ukraine, not Russia, was behind the interception of e-mails to the Democratic National Committee in 2016, 

The Trump administration has stepped up its investigation into Hillary Clinton e-mail case, the Washington Post reported on Saturday, bringing to the forefront the president's favorite issue in attacking his rival in the 2016 election.

The question of whether Clinton used an e-mail and private servant when she was secretary of state prompted Trump to repeatedly insist that she deserved imprisonment, while calling on his supporters to "lock her up."

After an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the case, the former director of the agency, James Komi, did not recommend that charges be brought against Clinton, but said that her actions show "great disregard".
