SDF opposes joining the Syrian army

In a statement issued on Wednesday, SDF explained its tacit rejection of Damascus's invitation, saying: "We affirm that the members of the Syrian Democratic Forces are disciplined military organization with an institutional structure, We absolutely reject this language of speech addressed to individuals, while the first in the Syrian Ministry of Defense to address its speech to the General Command of the Syrian Democratic Forces in order to open the door of a sincere desire to unite efforts and not circumvent the reality to shirk its responsibilities."

SDF stressed that its members who "fought ISIS and destroyed its alleged caliphate in defense of Syria and the whole world" are "heroes who deserve praise and honor and not settle the status and pardons such as those issued against criminals and terrorists."

The SDF expressed its appreciation for all that would unite efforts to defend Syria and repel the Turkish aggression against our country and our people, stressing that its position was clear from the beginning that "unity of ranks must start from a political settlement that recognizes and preserves the privacy and structure of SDF and establishing a sound mechanism for restructuring the Syrian military establishment as a comprehensive framework for unifying efforts."
