Venezuelan President Condemns "Coup" Against Bolivian President

Islam Times - Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has condemned the "coup" against his leftist ally Evo Morales after the Bolivian president said he would resign following calls from his country's army to step down.

Morales' allies in Bolivia abandoned him after weeks of protests over the disputed Oct. 20 election.

"We strongly condemn the coup against our brother president" Maduro wrote on Twitter.

Morales, who came to power nearly 14 years ago, said earlier on Sunday he would resign to help restore stability.
