Syrian Army Begins a Military Operation and Liberates the First Towns in Idlib Countryside

The source told "Correspondents" that the Syrian army units have fought violent battles with groups of Jabhat al-Nusra in the southern countryside of Idlib during the past few hours, on several places surrounding the town of Umm Jalal.

The source confirmed the control of the army units on the town of Umm Jalal after battles in which dozens of gunmen from Al-Nusra and the militants loyal to it were killed, and the Taw bases and cars equipped with machine guns and various types of military equipment for the militants were destroyed.

correspondents reported that the progress of the Syrian forces came with air support from the Syrian helicopters and Russian planes, which destroyed the fortifications of the militants in the town and targeted its supply routes from the northeast and western hubs.

According to what reporters the armed coordinators have attributed the killing of several terrorists fighting under the al-Nusra Brigade, in addition to five armed men belonging to the brigades of the “Daraa” militants who are practicing their terrorism under the al-Qaeda as well.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian army had liberated the entire northern Hama countryside during the past months with the strategic city of Sheikh Sheikhoun in Idlib countryside, after a military operation that led to the liberation of dozens of villages and towns and the siege of the Turkish point in the town of Mork.
