Egyptians say state media must be reformed
The legislative team of the MB's candidate Mohamed Morsi has held a presser where they sacked these media outlets which attacked the brotherhood's candidate as they have also called on the election commission overseeing the presidential election to take action against these violators.

Throughout a year and half long transitional period that Egypt is still going through, calls for reforming the state media, most prominently Maspiro, the government run TV and Radio services have been high on the list of demands of revolutionaries as they watched attempts by state TV to defame all those who took part in protests and at times incited violence against peaceful protestors.

Many say state TV's biased role appeared again in the presidential election as it became more and more apparent that Maspiro was working to serve specific candidates and to smear others.

In the case of the run offs which are set to take place in a few days, according to experts, state TV has been favoring Ahmed Shafiq, the candidate representing Mubarak’s regime, allowing his supporters and campaigners ample air time to present their views while the Muslim Brotherhood's candidate Mohamed Morsi and his campaign were denied air time several times.

Despite repeated calls for reform by revolutionaries, Maspiro or State TV remains steadfast in its ways, presenting biased views and rumors to serve the interests of the former regime's candidate. Many experts say these could influence the voters on the day of runoff vote.
