US house vote to hold Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt
This, as Holder refused to turn over more documents in an investigation into a failed gun smuggling sting. The program was called Fast and Furious, and it allowed thousands of guns to cross the border into Mexico.

The White House has attempted to stop the vote. Last week President Obama stepped in and claimed executive privilege, a process the administration can use to protect internal discussions.

Democrats say Republicans are going after Holder in a politically motivated witch-hunt.

House Republicans say they are willing to negotiate an end the dispute surrounding Attorney General Eric Holder and the investigation if Holder turns over the Justice Department documents they have requested; still the vote is scheduled for Thursday.

This is the first time President Obama has used executive privilege. As a Senator Obama criticized President Bush for overusing it, Bush used executive privilege six times.
