The U.S should be stopped, says a Pakistani legislator
Talking to Islam Times, the Chairman of Pakistan’s Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Haji Mohamad Adeel said, "America should follow the international rules and avoid any new war in the region."

It is important to mention that Pakistan’s Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs has recently condemned any possible foreign attack on Syria.

Haji Adeel noted, "the committee also condemned the Pakistanis fighting in Syria against the Syrian government."

He emphasized that Syria should not be transformed into another Afghanistan.

However, he noted that no official information from the government of Pakistan on reports that Pakistanis are currently fighting in Syria have been provided to the committee despite several requests.

Pakistan’s Senate Defence Committee Chairman, Mushahid Hussain Sayed has also warned that the American invasion of Syria would further destabilize the Middle East.

He explained that, the possible attack could spark a new cold war in South-West Asia.

“I urge the US and all countries to uphold the UN Charter and international law as the Middle East region cannot afford a new war,” Mushahid said.

“Parliamentarians can play a positive role in promoting peace and shaping public opinion,” he added referring to Pakistan’s Senate Foreign Affairs Committee’s unanimous resolution passed on Tuesday to oppose any attack against Syria.

The Senate’s Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs passed on Tuesday a resolution unanimously condemning any possible military action against Syria.

Senator Mushahid Hussain declared the body opposed any military solution to the Syrian issue and recommended that the issue should be resolved in accordance with the will of the Syrians rather than imposing a military solution upon them.

Hussain added that due to various conflicts in the region the Middle East could not afford any new war. The body, he insisted, also condemned the use of chemical weapons against innocent civilians, regardless of “whoever used it”.
