American Consulate surrounded in Lahore

Islam Times reports that a large number of Pakistani protestors are angry with America’s efforts to release an American embassy worker in Islamabad. The protestors have surrounded the consulate.

Anti –American slogans are being shouted while American officials are trying to have Raymond Davis, a worker for the American embassy in Islamabad who killed three innocent Pakistanis, released. These protestors are furious over these efforts. They stated that the protests will continue as long as America is trying to grant Davis diplomatic immunity.

Raymond Davis killed two Pakistani citizens by firing into a crowd in Lahore on Thursday. Davis’s driver tried his best to escape the scene at all costs. He was excessively speeding and crashed into a motorcycle killing its driver and injuring six others.

The American embassy in Islamabad stated that their diplomat should not have been arrested by Pakistani security forces in Lahore, despite killing three people. They have started diplomatic efforts to have him released.
