"After looking though [the strategy], particularly the parts concerning our country, one can see the imperial nature of this document, as well as unwillingness to abandon the unipolar world idea and accept a multipolar world," Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

According to the Russian presidential spokesman, the new US National Security Strategy is a rather long document, which needs to be thoroughly assessed, "and the relevant agencies will do it." "The wordings [used in the strategy] are rather impressive, they should be analyzed," Peskov concluded.

"As for the new US national security strategy, the document is rather large and needs to be studied thoroughly, which will be done by all relevant agencies in order to think it through," Peskov said.

On Monday, the White House unveiled the new US National Security Strategy, which particularly concerns Russia. The document says that "the combination of Russian ambition and growing military capabilities creates an unstable frontier in Eurasia, where the risk of conflict due to Russian miscalculation is growing."

According to the strategy, Washington’s "enhanced missile defense is not intended to undermine strategic stability or disrupt longstanding strategic relationships with Russia or China" since it is "focused on North Korea and Iran." In addition, the document claims that "China and Russia are developing advanced weapons and capabilities that could threaten US critical infrastructure and command center.
