Jordan's Parliament Discusses a Proposal to Prevent the Import of Israeli Gas

The Speaker of the Jordanian House of Representatives, Atef Al-Tarawneh, during a session held on Sunday, in the presence of the Jordanian Prime Minister Omar Al-Razzaz and the Ministry’s Authority, to discuss the draft laws of the general budget and the budgets of government units for the fiscal year 2020, called on the parliamentary legal committee to submit a proposal for a law to "prevent the import of Israeli gas", and give him a sense of urgency.

And he called the legal committee as chairman and members, to intensify the effort and work, in order to complete the proposal by law, according to the memorandum signed by 58 deputies, related to preventing the import of gas from the Israeli entity, so that the law proposal will be presented on the council's agenda next Sunday.

For his part, Chairman of the Parliamentary Legal Committee Abdel Moneim Al-Awdat said that the committee has studied this proposal with all its legal dimensions, and the law proposal will be developed for the House of Representatives to decide on it, and it will be sent to the government in accordance with the procedures, stressing that the committee is ready to present the law proposal to Parliament to make a decision.
