Iran uses smart bombs, laser missiles

Islam Times reports from Fars News Agency: Senior Iranian commanders, including Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Army Brigadier General Abdolrahim Mousavi and IRIAF Commander Brigadier General Hassan Shah-Safi were present in the opening of the three-day major drills dubbed “Fadaeeyan Harim Velayat 3” (Defenders of Velayat Sanctuaries 3) in northwest Iran on Tuesday.

The drills included the Saeqeh domestically-built fighter as well as F-4, F-5, Mig-29 and Sukhoi-24 fighter-bombers and the C-130 transport plane.

The fighters are equipped with smart bombs, laser and thermal missiles with various ranges to hit fixed and mobile targets.

On Monday, IRIAF ended the practical phase of the drills, testing tactical flights and dropping test ammunition on mock targets.
