London has assured Moscow that it has not issued any visa restrictions on Russian officials.
London has assured Moscow that it has not issued any visa restrictions on Russian officials.
This comes after a recent report by the Sunday Times claimed that Britain had blacklisted a group of Russian officials via no UK visa sanctions, with the excuse that the officials were allegedly involved in violations of Human Rights.

The UK newspaper was referring to a letter by Damian Green, the Immigration Minister, which was sent to a fellow Tory MP stating that the list provided the names of 60 Russian officials, who were prosecutors, judges, police officers and prison chiefs.

Previously, Russian officials were baffled by the report, which led to their Foreign Ministry warning London with retaliatory measures if the information in the article was true.

Aleksandr Yakovenko, Russian ambassador to Britain said on Sunday that he would officially demand an explanation from the UK’s Foreign Office.

"We have focused our attention on this [blacklist] and have asked the British government to either confirm or deny it. Our reaction will depend on the response from UK officials”, said a spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry on Monday.
