Targeted killing of Shias on consistent rise in Pakistan
Shia Organizations staged rallies Friday to protest and condemn the killing incidents, blaming the government for not acting against the killers.

Protestors chanted anti-Government slogans and marched through the streets of Lahore, demanding immediate measures of security for the Shia community.

Protestors said they have had enough of the Government’s false promises and warned of self-defense measures will be taken to protect the lives of the Shias across the country.

At least 35 shias have been killed in various incidents of targeted killings across the country during November. The number continues to rise as killers are moving freely and openly, putting lives of Shias at high risk.

Shia leaders blame the government and judiciary for not taking immediate notice of the issue. They blamed the authorities for releasing the arrested targeted killers and letting them free to kill more Shias, creating questions of credibility of the government and the judiciary.

Party leaders have warned the government of increased protests until the government does not fulfill their promises and provides security to the innocent locals, whose eyes are still wet crying over the loss of their loved ones.

As sectarian violence intensifies country wide, Shia community continues to protest against government negligence towards safeguarding lives of the locals.
