US seeks to liquidate anti-Zionism resistance: Analyst

“I think this is the policy of the USA to liquidate all [and] any kind of resistance of the Arab and Muslim individuals and people everywhere against the Zionists,” said Tahsin al-Halabi.

“Because to be against the Zionists, it means that you would be against the USA and Britain and the France policies everywhere,” he added.

Halabi pointed to the sacrilegious acts by the militants in Syria, including setting mosques on fire, and called on all Muslims, particularly Sunnis, to protest against those extremist groups.

    “I think the Sunnis should go and make demonstration everywhere in this Islamic world in order to prove that it is not any kind of Islam. It is against Islam and against the humanity,” he pointed out.


In a latest incident of such blasphemous acts, a video purportedly filmed in the northern Syrian town of Jisr al-Shughur, was posted online on Wednesday, which showed members of the so-called Free Syrian Army torching a Shia mosque and using derogatory terms against the Shias.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011. Many people, including large numbers of army and security personnel, have been killed in the turmoil.

The Syrian government says the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of militants operating in the country are foreign nationals.
