Moscow to Deliver S-300 to Iran by Next September
The source told Tass news agency that the first batch of S-300 will begin in January 2016 and will end in February. The second batch is scheduled to take place in July / August 2016.

"In this way, Russia will meet all its obligations related to the S-300PMU-2 Favorite systems to Tehran," the source said, adding that Russia will also train around 80 Iranian experts to operate the missile systems, noting that the training camp is expected to last 4 months.

The state-owned Russian company, Ross-Tej, announced on November 9 that the new contract signed between Russia and Iran on S-300 supplies came into force, that would replace the old contract of delivering five S-300 battalions for $ 800 million, which was abolished by Russia in 2010 after tightening international sanctions against Tehran.

Media sources reported that Tehran will get the systems that were previously reserved for Syria, the contract Moscow had cancelled after the Zionist entity expressed concerns about it. The serial production of Favorite systems has been stopped in Russia.

However, in April 2015, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the lifting of the ban on the S-300 delivery to Iran, after decisive progress in the negotiations on the Iranian nuclear file has been made.
