Palestine Envoy Calls for IAEA Investigation into Israel’s Use of Depleted Uranium in Gaza
“The amount of ammunition used [in Gaza] has already exceeded the amount of ammunition used in the Second World War,” Abdel Shafi told Al Jazeera.

“This fact alone should trigger curiosity by the IAEA and other specialized agencies to go into Gaza and conduct a thorough investigation.”

“So far we haven’t seen any action,” he added.

Depleted uranium ammunition, while not classified as a nuclear weapon, emits low levels of radiation, prompting the IAEA to caution about potential exposure risks.

Israeli attacks in Gaza have killed 40 people and injured 218 in the last 24 hours, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. This brings the total number of people killed in the enclave since October 7 to 37,124, with 84,712 injured, the ministry reported.
